Restore Strength & Beauty with Dental Crowns in Woodstock, GA

A damaged or weakened tooth doesn’t have to mean a compromised smile. At Dentistry of Olde Towne, we craft custom dental crowns that restore your tooth’s strength, function, and natural appearance — so you can eat, speak, and smile with complete confidence. Proudly serving Woodstock and Cherokee County families since 1984.

What Is a Dental Crown?

A dental crown is a custom-made “cap” that fits over a damaged, decayed, or weakened tooth, restoring it to its original shape, size, and function. Crowns fully encase the visible portion of a tooth above the gum line, providing durable protection while blending seamlessly with your surrounding teeth.

At Dentistry of Olde Towne, our Woodstock dental team uses high-quality materials and precise craftsmanship to create crowns that are built to last and designed to look completely natural.

When Is a Dental Crown Needed?

Our Woodstock patients receive dental crowns for a variety of reasons, including:

  • A tooth that is severely decayed and cannot be restored with a filling alone
  • A cracked, fractured, or broken tooth
  • A tooth that has been weakened following a root canal
  • A worn-down tooth due to grinding (bruxism)
  • Covering and protecting a tooth with a large or failing filling
  • Anchoring a dental bridge in place
  • Improving the appearance of a misshapen or severely discolored tooth

If you’re experiencing tooth pain, sensitivity, or visible damage, a dental crown may be exactly what your smile needs.

What to Expect During Your Crown Appointment

Receiving a dental crown at Dentistry of Olde Towne typically involves two visits to our Woodstock office:

Visit 1 — Preparation & Impressions: Your tooth is gently shaped to make room for the crown. Detailed impressions are taken and sent to our dental lab, where your custom crown is fabricated. A temporary crown is placed to protect your tooth in the meantime.

Visit 2 — Placement: Once your permanent crown is ready, we remove the temporary crown, check the fit and color match, and permanently bond the new crown into place. You’ll leave with a restored, fully functional tooth.

With proper care, a well-placed dental crown can last 10–15 years or longer. We serve patients from throughout the area, including Woodstock, Canton, Holly Springs, Towne Lake, and Ball Ground.

Caring for Your Dental Crown

Crowns are durable, but they do require regular care. We recommend:

  • Brushing twice daily and flossing around the crown each day
  • Avoiding chewing on hard objects like ice or hard candy
  • Wearing a nightguard if you grind your teeth
  • Attending your regular six-month cleanings at our Woodstock office so we can monitor the crown’s condition
